Supieror 5.13's and Detroit locker install
Well.. it all came in. I went to install the Detroit carrier onto the Ring gear expecting to have to drill the holes out on the carrier. No need. They are the right size. Everyone was saying I was going to need to drill. So... I'm a little
. Not complaining... but still
. The bad news was that the install kit that came in yesterday for the rear was missing everything but the bearings. So... I couldn't install it today. I almost did the front... but, then if it snows before the rears go in.. .I'd be in trouble.

The suck part is today was the day.... I work for a boat dealer. We move into the Providence, RI boat show Monday at 5am. I'll be crazy till the end of Feb. We move out of Providence first Sunday in Feb. and move into Boston, MA boat show the next weekend on sunday... there for 2 weeks(week set up... week show... 8 hours to break it all down) So, I won't see the inside of a garage(to work on my Jeep) till the end of Feb. maybe March.
I'm still kinda
about not having to drill out the Carrier on the Detroit. I don't know if Eaton did it for me or what. Another thing... I can't believe that Superior sells Ring and Pinion sets without carrier bolts. What's up with that.

That Detroit isnt going to work for you. That is ment for a standard 30 spline D44. JK's use a 32 spline D44 in back.
And, are those gears meant for a JK D44? Or a standard D44? JK D44's have a different sized pinion. Int hat ring gear bolts up without drilling out the detroit, then I would guess you have the wrong gears also. Can you measure the diameter of the pinion right up next to the gear?

I have the non-rubicon D-44. So it's got 30 spline axles. The rubi's have 32's.
The gears are from Superior... and they say D44513 on the box. Guess I'll be sending them back.

So... the saga continues. I was sent the wrong rear gears. The new ones came in. great.... check out the install kits from Ratec. They are wrong. Call Ratec again... sorry.. we don't have install kits for that truck yet. WELL... THEN WHY DID YOU GIVE ME THESE PART NUMBERS THEN!!!....
Anywho... so I sent back the Ratec parts. Picked up the needed parts from the dealer. Front went together like a breeze. Had to wait a day for the rear bearings to come in at the dealer. Went to put them in... and low and behold it doesn't go together. I apparently have the wrong carrier. Now I spoke to the Superior and Detroit techs before hand to conferm the part number. It doesn't fit.
