Worth it to replace my rear D44 limited slip with an aussie locker or Elocker?

I currently have a limited slip in my rear d44 and I am about to have a set of 4.56s installed. I'm thinking it would be a good time to upgrade to an aussie locker or a elocker. The aussie is really inexpensive compared to an elocker so I am leaning toward that.
How is an aussie in the read d44 in town and on the highway? What are the downsides: gas mileage, wear and tear, noise?
Do elockers act like limited slips or open when disengaged?

I never have had a Aussie but I had a lock right in my TJ which is very similar it worked really well. On the hwy you couldn't tell it was even there. In and around town unless you really stepped on the gas in a tight turn it was really not noticeable. You could hear a little clicking from time to time when making a turn but that was all. Put over 80K miles on it without any problems.
I just realized your in a snow and ice area don't think it would be a good area for that type of locker. Due to the fact that every time your on the gas it is engaged might want to stay with the LS or a selectable locker.

Well this thread answered most of my questions:

I like using 4wd in the snow. I don't need to but I have much better traction. I don't want an aussie locker in the front to screw that up. I also don't want to lose my limited slip in the back.
If I can't get a elocker or arb that is a limited slip when disengaged for the back then i'm thinking an elocker or arb that is open when disengaged for the front.

I have an Eaton up front in the 30.
Unless Aussie has made a new model, their locker only works in open carriers. Trac-locs use a different carrier, and the internal spacing is different. Which means you may as well put a detroit in back.

if you do swap it out let me know, I may be interested in limited slp.
I am getting my aussie put in the front tomorrow with my gear change, my plan for now is to run the front aussie, rear esp on the rocks. that way running around town (where I have to spend 99.99% of my time) I wont have to hear a rear aussie or other lunchbox clicking all the time. With the low nvestment in the front only, I can save toward the front and rear ARBs I really want.
