Default TeraFlex vs Full Traction Long arm Conversion...or other suggestions

So what do you all think? Has anyone really looked at this topic yet? Are the joints different? Is one stronger?

I just want to gather as much information on this topic for myself and others in the future. Im sure this topic will come up again at some point. But right now im looking at doing control Arms all around and for a little extra I can do one of these...and by little extra I actually mean a sizable difference haha

SO what are the opinions of the population?

Also, WHat dealer carries these products? I know teraflex u can order on the site, but what about the FullTraction Kit?

northridge4x4 sells both, and both are bad ass!!! The only thing I am not crazy about on the Tereflex is you have to weld it on. If you are a good welder that is an awesome way to go. I am not, so it would likely cost me a fortune. I guess most people that afford a new long arm kit can afford to get it welded on?

I have never had Full Traction, but I do have the Teraflex kit and will say it is badass! One thing I really like about Teraflex over FT is the fact that they actively post on this forum and are very helpful with questions and possible problems which arise from time to time. I have not seen that same effort from FT here on the forum, in fact have heard the opposite more often than not with them from FT owners when they complain about the lack of communication they receive when dealing with questions or issues with their products.

Performance wise I think both kits are very similar. Install wise, your stock control arm mounts have to be cut off with either kit. The FT kit is bolt on from there and the Teraflex kit has to be welded on. I really don't think you can go wrong with either kit. I chose Teraflex because I have seen them help their customers with questions and issues openly here. I have not needed any assistance from them myself yet.

Northridge 4X4 sells both kits and David also has great customer service! Bought mine through him.

Not slamming Full Traction here as I haven't kept up to date with the issue. But some people were having issues with (I think) squeaky bushings. Some seemed to be having good customer service about it, and some not. But that's always an I-said / they-said thing. Search the forum for Full Traction and squeak, and maybe PM some of the people and find out from them the more factual scenario. I can't see that issue still existing.

Only issue I've heard about Teraflex was some kinda hokey instructions, but PM or phone any of the TF people's and they'll be all over your questions.

And then yeah, the big install issue is can you or someone you know weld? If I recall properly, the TF brackets weld AND bolt on. So you could always buff the frame paint off, do the install, and drive it to a small fab-shop and have them buzz the welds off. Maybe an hour tops worth of labour. Hell, drive up and get one of the guys to do it at the end of the day, or over his lunch break. If they don't also bolt into place that of course won't work at all.

Now, my actual opinion. I'd go TeraFlex over Full-Traction. They offer a more "complete" suspension product line-up with not just lift components. As do several other companies. Maybe research Rock Krawler or some of the other forum sponsors and see what they've got too.

I'm running the FT long arm, If installed properly and Greased, You will not here a squeek, clank, clang or any other noise.

the install is easy, just a little time consuming. Anyone that knows how to use a grinder and drill could install this kit.

Just because they don't come on here and post does not mean they are not aware of the forum and the people on it, they don't have the man power other companys have.

4Wheel Drive Hardware sells both. Give us a ring, we will get you set up!

Im not going to say 1 kit is better than the other, because both brands are very solid!

I don't have the FT long arm, but I do have their ultimate lift with "short arms". It is incredibly noisy. Clanks, squeaks, creaks, groans... you name it--it has a sound for it. Yes, when its lubed it does not make any noise--however--it seems to requiring lube every 1000 or so miles.

I am going to convert to a TFlex Long Arm kit this year and not look back.

I have the full traction 6" long arm. Have about 2000 miles on it and have had no noise issues. I have it lubed and checked every time I take it off road. Maybe over kill, but seems to work for me. As for customer service, the guys are great. There was in issue with the passenger side front spring. They replaced it and the rear passenger side for me. I also like the stronger replacement cross member that comes with this kit. Not sure if TF has that.

I am sure either way you go, you won't be disappointed. I wish I would have gone with the long are straight away. It is an awesome set up.

no matter what lift kit you put on your jeep,it is not factory anymore. you will have to do some mantaining of a kit ie lubing bushing, tight jam nuts, and greasing fittings. no matter what kit you have.

if you are using a basic suspension/chassis grease, the joints will definitely squeak in no time at all. you really need to be using somthing like this:

it's a bit pricey but it's what i use and when i was running an FT 3" ultimate kit, i never had any squeaking issues.
