wooHoo! I just changed my tires from Toyo Open Country ATs to MTs. So far I love these tires! Not much louder on the Highway than my old ATs at all!
However the tire guy(20+ years experience) says those tires are rated for 80pounds for a certain weight. He then pulls out his calculator and calculates the weight of my vehicle and says I need to run the tires at 45psi
I thought I read somewhere here that they should run around 30psi? What the heck gives

It has to do with maintaining the load rating and heat dissipation of the OE tires. I run my 35's at 40 PSI. You wont do any damage at a lower pressure and you will get a better ride. I would run them between 30 and 35 on the road.
26.5 to 29 psi in mine, and since the full control arms, rides great, handles terrific.
The rear control arms really made a heck of a difference, medium speed corners are phenomenal, the back end is planted.
Tire wear measured with a guage is exceptionally even on all 4 tires, but I did have a lot of running on mine at 26lbs, as the higher pressures made it too flighty untill I added the lower front arms for a caster of 7.1 degrees.

You can check out this table and do your own calcs if so inclined...
At 35 PSI those tires can handle 4400 lbs per axle - this far exceeds the JKs 2650 lb/axle GVWR.
