Default High Rock Tire Carrier

This was being talked about in another thread but i was afraid some of you that might haveit might over look it. Right now i cannot afford a bumper for my jk capabke of carring a 35 x 12.5 tire. Do any of you have this product and how exactly does it keep stress off the tailgate? Thanks

I don't know about the JK, but the one for the TJ uses the body hinges and support from the roll cage. It is pretty sturdy. Doesn't look like the JK one mounts the same though.

OR FAB makes a nice one for the JK, you can get it with or without jerry can mounts.

Also i jsut found The Smitty Built Bumper / tire carrier for 600 bucks so i might jsut go with that. I wanted LOD but seems like this is the cheaper way to go and will keep the weight off my tailgate. And the bumper doesnt look that bad i guess.

If I were you, I would run the 35 on your tailgate till you can afford the bumper/carrier you like. I know many people that have 35's on thier tailgate for over a year before they started to show signs of wear.

Get the one you like so you don't have regrets. Use your tax rebate from Obama
