Default suspension sag question.

Sorry if this is a stupid question:

Is there any downside (other than price) to using a higher lift instead of a shorter lift with added spacers?

Situation:
I want a 3 inch lift (or close). I will be adding bumpers/winch/cargo rack/etc. This, historically, drops my suspension about an inch. Which means spacers. Is there anything detrimental in just going to a 4 inch lift instead (other than cost)?

Other than the possible driveline mods which may be necessary with a 4" kit, there shouldn't be any problem with that. It's your Jeep, so you can decide to go with a little extra lift if you want.

If you know for sure that you will be installing all that extra heavy stuff, I would go with the 4" coils. This would get you to where you need to be and without needing spacers. As far as repercussions go, there should be none.
