Default Too much bump stop?

I have been looking at my JK over the past couple of months thinking that I really am not getting the articulation that I would like, so while working on it at the last wrench day, someone pointed out how little room there is between the bump stops.

So... I got out the handy floor jack today and flexed it up. Sure enough, there was at least 3" of shock piston left before it was fully compressed, so I took off the bottom part of the bump stops and now it articulates a lot better.

Of course, I'm still running stock rubi tires most of the time, but now I'm thinking that rather than putting more bumpstop back on I will probably do a 1" body lift. I just hate the thought of losing flex

Anyway - This is my only complaint so far on the superlift kit, but it may be something worth paying attention to for anyone who is trying to maximize flex.

Good luck and keep the shiny side up!

Same thing happened to mine when I installed the TeraFlex ones. Removed them, added articulation and still had more extension on the shocks.

Sorry... I didn't get any before pictures. I can explain them a little though...

The stock JK's have a white bump stop in the upper part, and most vendors deliver a hard rubber piece that is longer and replaces the white bump stop. Then some also deliver a think that looks like a thick hockey puck that you mount inside the spring at the bottom. I had to drill a hole in the spring mount and put the thing on there.

I took out the hockey puck part so that the upper bump stop will go back to hitting the spring perch (like the stock one, except longer). I figure I may rub a little with 35's, but if it comes to it I might do a 1" body lift so that I don't have to limit the flex with the extra bump stop.

Sorry I didn't think to take pics first...
