Default 18 inch wheels good for Wrangler X ??

Hey guys,

Im new to this site! It really is amazing the amount of information thats on here. Im also new to the idea of forums in general. But i do need some help...

Im planning to put 35 inch tires on my Wrangler X
I have the 3 inch teraflex (not yet installed) and the 4.88 ring and pinion set (rear and front) but have NOT ordered the wheels nor the tires!!!

The wheels i like keep coming up in 18 inch and I have found 35inch wheels for them but they are slightly wider at 13 or 13.5 inches...

My question is, as i have been searching I have not seen anyone talk about or any pics of a wrangler X with 18s - DOES IT WORK? is it bad for my car? What is necessary or shall i just stick with 17s?

I live in the middle east, so this is mostly for duning...

please advise...

you will be fine with that set up. i know the smallest size that the rockstars come in is 18, but usually you want a smaller rim so you can air down more, but then again i dont know what your sand is like over there. The rule of thumb is that your tire size should be at least double your rims size. Good luck with whatever you pick

you'll be fine with 18's. most people don't run them here because there isn't as much of a tire selection to go with them and if you can find what you want, they tend to be more expensive.

X2. I was really shocked at the limited choice of tires you have with 18" wheels. I have a set of 18" now, but I have a set of 17" in the garage waiting for tires. The tire choice for 17" wheels (height, width, brand, tread) is almost limitless. Happy hunting.

The bottom wheels you selected look like Ultra goliaths. I have them in chrome. Think hard before you go 18s... I am on my second set of tires for them, and it is expensive!!! Not many choices either. Get the size you want the first time, cause the second time really stings the wallet. Here is a photo of them in 18x9 wrapped with Nitto Mud grappler 35x12.50R18s:

Heres Mine with 13.50 wide tires. Do a search for xd's and you'll find a whole thread of rockstars. Give you a
better idea what it will look like.

I have photos of the goliaths with 325/60R18 Terra Grapplers too if you want to see them. I think that measures like 33.4 tall x13.3 wide.

I like the Magnus more than the rockstars.

As a side note, if you intend on wheeling with your tires aired down, a smaller wheel with the same sized tires will give you more sidewall to play with, and possibly help protect the lip a little more.

Other than that comment though, they look awesome, get em' in black.
