Default Lift, shocks, 34's ...rides like a YJ, WTF !!

Hey guys, looking for some educated input. I put a Teraflex 2.5" BB on and a new set of Skyjacker 8000 Nitro shocks. Also put on a new set of 34" BFG A/T's (30 psi). Ever since I did these mods my Jeep is riding real rough. So much that I can bearly stand to drive it on the streets. I can feel every bump in the road. Anybody have any ideas. I need to remedy this problem so I can get back the love of driving.

Thanks,
Willy J

Interesting. I have two JK's. I put an OME from Northridge in one and it rides like a champ. I had 4wparts put in a budget boost in the other and you feel every bump.

I can only assume that placing spacers in has limited the spring range and I am feeling it.

Hopefully folks that know more that I do can help us out.

Default bump stops installed correctly?

I wish I could find the thread that I saw this in, but another member described what you are experiencing. Turned out he had the bump stops on the rear installed incorrectly (facing the wrong way) and the bump stop was catching on the spring causing a very rough ride. Wish I was more educated so I could post the link. Perhaps someone else will chime in who is more computer savy.

If the issue is what 1JK's* is describing, then you need to have the rear bump stops pointing towards the front of the jeep.

you sure the tires are at 30 psi? I would think that the likely reason. keep in mind that you just changed the geometry <sp?> of your control arms by certain degrees and some of the bumps may be bucking into your frame just a bit. I think more likely though is that the tires may have too much air, or maybe those shocks are not as good as the ones you had from the factory. The shocks will get a little softer over time though. Skyjacker shocks usually ride pretty soft, some people even say too soft. So I don't know. Check the bumpstops like the others said. Good luck, and let us all know what you find!!!

Post a photo of your bumps. hell post a photo of before and after, lol.

Check your part #'s and see if they sent you the right shocks.
0-1.5" frt - n8005 rear -n8007
2-3.5 "frt- n8035 rear-n8037
If your shock is too short it will bottom out and cause this

Also, like others have said, lower your tire pressure, I have 35's 28 psi in frt and 26 psi in rear. If I have 30 psi it rides rougher.

I have the same tire pressure for mine.

I would have to say it was the shock selection.

Tire pressure was the key for me as well. When Discount mounted up the tires for me they set them all (35's) to 35 psi. It was rough. Dropped it to 30, and was way better. Now running 28 all around and it feels good. I think I'll try 26 in the rear as suggested above and see how it goes.

Where I live we have concrete streets, so with too much psi it is a big "bump bump bump bump" instead of a dull "thump thump thump tump".
