Default OME HD kit with LT shocks

After looking at the OME HD kit with LT shocks Dave at Northridge 4x4 put together (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/sponsoring-manufacturers-vendors-check-out-cyber-monday-specials-24/ome-jk-long-travel-suspension-lift-details-inside-67476/) I noticed that Dave put a lot of care into making sure the springs are retained. This made me wonder if the LT shocks are actually little long for the approx 3.5" boost you would get from an OME HD lift. Anyone have the OME HD kit with LT shock that can comment?

The shocks are perfect in my opinion . I am running them on my 3" kit and have been for months without any issues. The reason I put the coil spring retainers in that kit is so the coil stayed in place under extreme flex.

The shocks are approx 16" fully collapsed .

Thanks Dave, I was thinking you were taking a better safe than sorry approach with the kit, but I wanted to make sure.
