Hankook MT road tire pressure...?????
I just got a set of hankook mt's and they are the 10 ply. The tire guy told me to run them at 35 psi since the jeep is a lighter vehicle, however that sounds kinda low. The max tire pressure is 65 psi. Anyone know what these should be run at on the road? I would appreciate the feedback.

Try this out...
Have a look on your sidewalls and find Max Load Capacity at Max PSI.
Take that number and multiply it by 4. That will give you the maximum weight those tires will support at Max PSI. Now, look inside your driver door and find your GVWR (4door about 5500lbs) add your weight plus any extra weight you've added (ie bumpers, tires, cargo) Take that number and divide it by your tires Max load capacity you calculated earlier.
For example ... say max load is 3,145 lbs at 65 PSI.
3,145 x 4 =12,580 lbs at 65 PSI
Your Jeep lets say 6,000 lbs / 12,580 lbs = .48 or 48% of Max capacity.
So now, if your only using 48% of your Max load than it's probably a safe bet to run about 48% of your Max PSI. Or example... 65 PSI x .48 = 31 PSI.
Make sense? That's a great starting point...then to be sure try the "Chalk Method" search it out in the forum.
Hope this helped.

I run my 35's at 28 PSI and they are wearing evenly. If you run a 10-ply tire at 35+ PSI you will be bouncing all over the road. When I picked up my old Jeep at the tire shop, they had 40 PSI in them and I felt every pebble in the highway and was bouncing all over the place.
