Default Lockers, Gears, Chromo Axle shafts

I am looking at adding ARB lockers F/R, gears, and axle shafts. My questions are really about axle shafts. I have the option to go to 30 spline in the front rather than 27 spline, and 35 spline in the rear rather than 30 spline.

Is this overkill? Would the 27F/30R spline chromo do the job?

Would going the 30F/35R spline essentially prevent me from using the stcckers as backups?

Also, are there any issues with the ARB fit in the stock setup? I heard rumors that I needed a new carrier but I'm not sure that is really the case.

I'm in the middle of going to a similar setup, but I can't give you personal experience quite yet. For me it came down to this...

on the front 30's- I decided that if anything I would probably blow up the ring and pinion before shelling a 30-spline shaft, and unfortunately I'm not so sure that the results won't be similar with the 27-spline shaft. However, replacing an axle shaft on the trail is easy. Blowing up the R&P means a ride home on the trailer.

on the rear- the 35 splines aren't out for the JK quite yet. (except for a few who have pre-production models. cough-cough-WOL ) I have heard they are close, but I decided to start with the 30 spline shafts in the back. My understanding is that if a person wanted to, you can replace the side gears in the ARB to run the 35-spline shafts. I may not upgrade my rear shafts and just run the stock 30's for a while and then go up to 35-spline shafts when they come out.

We can get the 35 spline shafts but they are 6 weeks out. honestly not sure it is worth the extra cost, wait and not having a spare.

on the front we have sold a ton of dana 30 front chromo's and nobody has broken any.

I like the ability no matter where you are to be able to get a spare or replacement shaft.

The arbs are the way to go for sure.

Give us a call if you have any questions we have installed alot of these

Thanks David for your input on this. Having a trail spare (or two) was also in the back of my mind, but your input has helped me cement the decision.
