Default Will a lift look dumb with stock tires??

I definately want to get a 2" lift, but will that look dumb without adding new shoes??

The JK i'm thinking about buying has P255/75R17 tires on it now.

Well, I think it depends on the tires. On my Rubicon with it's 32" or 255 mudders, I thought it looked just fine. But, with street tires.... that might look a little funny.

You'll probably be OK with only a 2" lift... obviously there will be more space in the wheel wells, but that could give it a more "purpose-built" look, since you'll have the appearance of extra articulation available. A lot of people like to fill out the wells, though. Just as long as you're happy, it's all good.

I have a 2.5" Teraflex with stock Sahara 18" rims/tires and it looks fine. I've got to sell my TJ before the wife will allow the purchase of 35s for the JK

If you have an X model with smaller tires, it may look odd IMO

I've got a 2" lift with the stock Rubi 32s and I also put 1.25" spacers on to give it the look I like. I will eventually get 33 12.5s. I really like to way it looks now and all of my friends and neighbors agree. I really do not like the way the stock wranglers sit. They look so low to the ground. Just my $.02

It will look fine. Spacers will also make the stance nicer with factory rims and tires.

I love the way mine looks with the Tera 2.5 and 32" tires. I'm surprised at how much I like it. I also plan on going with bigger tires when I can afford to, but that won't be for a while and I'm plenty pleased with it as it is.

looks great, I think a well balanced look you got. I've been driving around my block everyday tying to wear these 265's out so I can get 32/33's. My wife thinks I'm just out having fun

I plan on getting a 2-inch lift and would like to get more aggressive 32-33" tires for the stock Sahara wheels. But it's been so hard finding 18X12.5 tires. It may be less expensive getting 17" Wheels+Tires!
