Default Ordered a 2" OME Lift. Any tips for install, etc?

I ordered the OME 2" lift from Northridge with adjustable track bars yesterday. Very excited and waiting for the UPS man to arrive

I probably won't be able to install the kit till next weekend, but will be sure to take lots of pics as I do. Any tips or OME specific things to look for/do when installing this lift? Wondering if I need to do something to the brake lines or brackets to create added slack, etc.

Anyhow, $.02 appreciated. Looking forward to joining the lifted club soon.

Thanks for the info. read the write-up. Great info. Read the posts with it... more good info.

Gave me one important Q that was never answered:

1. Do you need sway bar extensions or longer sway bars? (Q was asked about 10x in the write-up. NOONE ever answered it)

That seems to be my only concern now.

Thanks again.

You will need extended front links for your e-disco to work. I went from 0 degrees on the sway bar to 21 degrees after the lift using the HD springs.

You will be fine with stock links as long as you don't try to disconnect. I replaced my stock front links with the JKS adjustable links and it works like a champ! I still have the stock links on the back.

As for the brake lines they will stretch tight. They probably will not break, but I felt more comfortable by adding extended brake lines. Also make sure to pull a little extra slack into your abs sensor wires. I simply pulled out the last plastic pin holding the cable to the hub and that give it plenty of room.

You going to love the lift and the ride

You may also consider extended bump stops if your going to run 35" tires.

I did the OME life and I added the following,

JKS adjustable trackbars from and rear.
Adjustable rear links. As I moved the stock rear links to the front so the e-disco is happy.
Crown Extended brake lines all four corners.
Russel Speed bleeders, because bleeding brakes by yourself is lame.

I also found that I had to make an extra beer run in the middle of the lift, so make sure that you have a good stock pile. And when you take your jeep to get and alignment after you finish lifting it, make sure that all the bolts that the alignment shop could have adjusted are all back to the factory spec. You are planning on getting an alignment right?

My jeep rides great on the road and is much improved offroad, although I have formed some opinions about the long wheel base and it’s offroading abilities. I think that I may have went a little bit overboard for what some consider to be a “budget boost”, but I plan on running the Jeep like this for a good long time and didn’t want to cut any corners.

Your e-disco will work no matter what size of lift and links you put on. What you need to di is make sure that once it is disconnected that the sway bar has no chance of inverting itself.

Sitting on flat ground your stabilizer should be parrallel to the ground.

i wouldnt take it to an alighnment shop, wol has a write up how to re-center your steering wheel, and how to re-center your axles with the trackbars is straight foward. thats all that should be affected
