Default Bestop Slider Step. Has anyone tried these

I see they are finally in stock at various places and was wondering if there is any feedback yet. They look like a great idea but just not sure of their durability off road.

This product will dammage the paint of your body, because it's too close: The sand is going inside the space between the step and the body and will act like sand paper.

im using them my 2 door x...works fine....
it bolts to the frame...(you will need to preload to get installed)its a tight fit...

the top edge of the step is the only part that contacts the jeep paint is the edge. its covered with a rubber seal..

i dont know what it will do to the paint long term....but i plan to keep the step for the life of the jeep.

hope that helps

Can you post a photo from the side view so that we can tell how far down it hangs in the upright positon? I'm guessing that you have to remove rock rails if you have them??

One more thing:

You won't be able to install a body lift with this step.

I have these on my 4door. I would give them a c+ rating. I like the look and the function. they will scratch and dent the body where they contact. The rubber gasket they provided was very soft and tore up on my first outing. the brackets are a pain to install, and can lossen up over time (causing the flex that scratches the body.

they do kick up and slide in if you hit something and they make it much easier to get in.

I have a 4" terraflex lift, and added a 1" body lift, so these steps will work with a body lift as the steps attach to the body and not to the frame.
