Default Newbie looking for help w/lift

Hey guys, I need a little help. Looking for a lift that isn't too expensive. I want to put 33's and I'm thinking a 3" lift would work but not sure about any rubbing while off road. Is there anything that needs to be done with a 3" lift besides just throwing it on? Please help, and thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum!

couple things:

first check the FAQ that WOL put together at the top of this forum. There's a page specifically on the lifts.

If you are only going to run 33s and want inexpensive, check out budget boosts (2.5" BB) or a smaller coil lift (2.5"). Search Tera Flex and get some ideas - they are a sponsor and very active/helpful on this site + people have had good experience with their stuff.

Wants you go to 3" lifts (a lot seem to yield more like 3.75-4") you get into other issues like driveline, etc which get expensive fast.

Good luck!

If you are only going with 33's, then I would look at the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with either shock extenders or new shocks. If you go this route you won't need anything else. You will get 3" of total lift.

What about the non coil TF 2.5BB? Do you recommend this setup? I was thinking of installing it plus coils from a 4dr. Might get even more lift?? If I do get more lift with this setup should I expect to get new driveshafts etc?

Thanks!

You could get a TF BB and a 1in Bodylift, give you 3.5in and no drive train modifications.

Welcome aboard, Phlsimpson! A few questions for you: What width tires? Is this running stock wheels? If not, what backspacing, then? Will you disconnect the swaybar? These can affect potential damage during wheeling. Be specific in your question (and fill out the information sheet on your JK profile page) and you'll get a better answer--perhaps even someone running that exact configuration. Right now, I'm not even sure if this is a two or four door (which may affect pinion angle and the need for driveshaft replacement).

Default Lift

It's not the cheapest by any means, but might want to consider the OME coil lift, gives a great ride and there is plenty of room for 33's.
