Yes the Nittos are louder. I have a set on my 94 YJ and they make a very noticeable hum on the highway. I have never owned a set of mtrs but have been around them and they are alot quieter. But I would not choose the mtrs over the nittos just because they are louder the looks alone make up for the noise. I like the noise they make it is not that slapping noise that you get from a cheap mud tire.

Thanks for the heads up. because if the Nittos are louder than the MTR's they must really HUM. I ran the MTR"s 33/1250's on my Rubi and hated every mile because of the HUM. I finally pawned them off on a trade and got some BFG MT's and they were half the noise imho. But this was on a TJ, if it helps.

You're opinion is dead on. The Nitto MT's are a lot louder than BFG MT's, but to me, they aren't Bogger loud or anything that obnoxious. They have a nice, appeasing hum that let's you know they are there. I like it, it's what Jeep show sound like, but they aren't for everybody.
