Default Rock Rails or sliders???

What is ther best for protecting the rocker panels? Rails that bolt to the frame or sliders that screw into rocker panel. Is it just personal preference or willingness to drill holes in the rocker panels that determine which way to go?

Any advice?

I personally would rather the shock/load from heavy rock contact be transferred directly to the frame rather than to the body. I think that having sliders bolted to the body could cause stress problems (squeeks, rattles, etc) in the future. I have never run body mounted sliders, so this is just my speculation. I do have to admit that I like the looks of a lot of the body mounted sliders that are on the market though.

are there actually any body mounted sliders available yet? I know the purejeep ones arn't out yet. I like the looks of the body mounted ones but the frame mounted ones are beefy as hell. Its all preference. I have the shrockworks sliders and they are great but I can't help but like the looks of the body mounted ones.

Thanks, I'm leaning toward body mounted slider once available. May not be as strong but do like the look.

I've been running body mounted rocker guards on my TJ for years now and can tell you that this for me is the prefered way to go. And, if designed well, they can be every bit as strong as a frame mounted guard and give you the added benefit of higher ground clearance where your Jeep often needs it the most. But, having said all that, there isn't anything available at this time that fits the bill and I'm not entirely sure I like what has come out for the JK Unlimited's so far. So, for now, I am running Shrockworks Rock Sliders on my JK. In fact, if you would like to see a complete installation write-up of them, click on the link below:

x2 Im running the shrockworks sliders atm but I might go with some body mounted sliders in the future. Im really liking the purejeep ones if they ever get released. Also really curious to see what poison spyder comes out with.

I am desperately searching for rock sliders..

Don't care for Shrockworks, like the Fabs, and the smaller Smittybilts..

But no one is actually selling and delivering them yet.. Whats up??

Don't they want my money??
