Default Can the OEM Sliders Cause Tire Damage?

Like the title says...

I just purchased the OEM sliders for my 4-door X. The rear of the sliders are really close to my 35 Nitto's. I know a lot of people have actually trimmed a couple of inches off of the sliders, but has anyone ever really experienced tire damage or any rubbing?

Please chime in...!!!

With 37's, even with the rear axle moved back with adjustable control arms, it still is too close for comfort. Trimmed the rock rails and the pinch seam to get another inch plus of clearance.
