Question OME Springs & LT shock question

Any one running the 2 door OME 616 heavy front springs and the rear medium 617 or rear heavy 618 springs AND the OME LONG TRAVEL shocks?

Do you need limiting straps, or do the coils extend enough to stay in place at full droop?

I have the FT 3" ultimate lift and and OME LT shocks now. The FT springs ride too stiff for me. I just want a better ride.

in the kit from northridge there are rear retainers because the is enough droop for the rear coils to move

I'm running the HD springs front and rear with the yellow OME shocks on a four door and I don't have limiting straps or need them. I think the long travel shocks are black, so I wish I could answer your question. But with the matched shocks and springs I have the ride is great!!!!!!!!!!

Thumbs up

I just installed the OME 616/618 coils with the Long Travel shocks.
And also the JKS adjustable track bars too.
I'm tightening the track bars today... I got it from David as well, Northridge4x4.com
So I can only say this, get the crown brake lines too. I didn't get them and I can tell that the stock brake lines are truly going to be taxed.. It looks to flex very well. I'll post up in a week or two to give an update.

Put on Crown lines when I installed the FT lift,... thanks for the tip though cause it will help others who read this.

On my range rover it would flex enough to unseat the spring. It had a retainer on the bottom and a cone on top, so the dpring could drop out on the top but the cones guided it back into place. I
Haven't senn anything like that for jeeps though.

I don't have the retainer ( bolt and large washer ) on the bottom/axle end of the rear springs , but I do have Teraflex 1" rear upper spacers that have a spring guide molded as part of the spacer .

Default Spring Retainers

You need to get the JKS spring retainers from Northridge or figure out your max droop and install limit straps, the trail is the last place you'll want a spring to drop out. good luck.
