has anyone had the oppertunity to install/use this rear bumper and tire carrier from Expedition One? I like the way they use the door to latch the carrier. Are there problems with this idea, noise, rattling other door problems? It looks cool

I like that bumper as well. I have e-mailed Expedition One a couple of times now and no reply. I have called also and have not been able to speak with anyone . They must be on vacation.

Love my Exp One rear bumper and tire carrier. Great design to look at and it functions great and the integrated tire carrier that opens with the tail gate is what sold me on it. The only thing some might miss with it is back up lights. I plan on installing a set just under the bumper out of the way and out of sight.

Kinda pricey but worth it in my opinion.

I'v had the E-1 rear bumper for about 8 months. I was skeptical at first of the integrated tailgate, but it works flawlessly. When installing the bumper, you just need to balance the tension/ vs slop at the tailgate as stated in the instructions. There was some rattling only on washboard roads, but I later glued some neoprene at the rubber bumper contact with the tire carrier. This elimatated all rattles without cranking the tension down. The pics at the beginning of the thread are pretty good.

These are pictures I posted in another thread, hopefully a copy/paste will work to post them here.

It could be that they just don't want your business.
