Default 4" Teraflex and 2" coil spacers possible??

I have a 4" Teraflex lift and 37s and I am getting some tire rub. I am not really interested in a body lift because I have a manual and dont want to trim the inner shift boot.

Can I put 1" or 2" coil spacers to get more room under the tires? If so what would need to be adjusted to compensate for the additional lift? Control arms, track bars, etc? Would this throw off my alignment?

I have 1" spacers with my 4" TF coils and it works just fine. It will change your alignment, if you haven't already I would at least get front lower and rear upper arms, and front/rear trackbars with that high of a lift.

have you considered trimming your fenders? this is a great solution that will give your jeep a mean look too

if not, yes, you can add spacers but the higher you go, the more your COG will go up with it. if you do go this route, you should make adjustment to your suspension/steering to compensate for it.

Yeah I have been considering this option as well. I am rubbing on the rear bumper and corner of the front bumper so I will have to chop those too.

Also, I have not replaced the front driveshaft yet. I have a manual and with my 4" lift how long can I expect to keep the stock one before it breaks?

I've got 1 3/4" spacers with my 6" springs but as the post before mine says, proper control arms may be what makes it work.

Hey JPTwinz how do you like your smittybilt rear tire carrier? I am thinking about getting this as well. It is strong enough to carry your 40's without rattling?

I love it except for the finish. The powdercoat is chipping along a few of the edges which is fine in the longrun but I would have like to be the one to chip it.

The spindle that the carrier attaches to the bumper by has a zerk fitting.

I went a week or so without greasing it but once I did, it became easy as heck to open and close it even with the massive tire on it. There's also a rubber boot with a spring in it that plays buffer between the handle that closes it and the bracket that keeps it closed.

This boot makes the difference in preventing the metal to metal contact that produces rattles on other carriers. The only shaking I ever see it do is sometimes at highway speeds I'll hit a bump and notice in my back window that the tire is shaking as I hit the bump.

Plus I got it at four wheel parts when they were having a huge sale a month or so ago. I picked it up for $684 vs the $899 retail.

Thanks for the info. Wow that is a heck of a deal. I might have to go down the the 4wd parts store and see if they will honor that price again

I put 1 3/4 in spacers under my 4in sl in the rear only. I do have an adj track bar . Stock ctrl arms in rear and still stock driveshaft. I have a rake again though. If your sitting level now, I'd just go 1in all around.

I just ordered the XRC front bumper from 4 wheel parts and they said the XRC line is on backorder for a little less than a month. So if you call them, do it while the sale is still fresh in their minds. You can also call 4wd.com (main # on their website) and ask for Jason. He placed my original order in Feb which included the rear carrier and is the one who worked the deal.
