Default To wheel space or not to wheel space...

I'm putting on an RC 2.5" coil lift with shocks, longer front & rear sway bar links, rear track bar bracket, break line bracket extensions and front adj. trackbar. I'm running stock 16's with 265/75's (for now) and was wondering with that tire size if I would need wheel spacers. I know going larger I probably would. Anybody else doing this setup without wheel spacers? I don't want to wait til I get new wheels and tires to get this lift on!

Errrm, I do not think you will need spacers with the rig. I am running 33x11.50 with no spacers and no rubbing.

If you maintain the wide of your tires in 11.50, you will not need any spacer, but if you think put wider tires in the future, you will need them.

I am running 265/75's also. I don't have spacers, but I did change to 16x8 wheels with 4.25" BS, instead of the stock 6.7 or something that the stock 16's have. And I didn't rub before, and now I do :/ In the future, if you go to 12.50's then you definitely will. Mine almost rubbed at full lock with the stock wheels. Now it doesnt rub there. But the front and rear will rub the flares.

If you are going to run the longer sway bar links in the rear and mount them in the stock location, you will need spacers.

what he said. the new longer links will cause the ends to be very close if not rubbing your sidewalls in the rear.

Would it help if I mounted the rear sway bars on the inside? If not, could I hold off installing the new sway bars all together? Just use stock? It's basically my DD. Or maybe just get longer ones for the front. Are the stock rear sway bars long enough for my purpose?

Some people have had success mounting them on the inside; however, others have had clearance issues with the "head" of the sway bar link hitting the axel mount. You can try going without the longer links but I think it will put your sway bar at an angle outside of tolerances.

Wheel spacers (such as Spidertrax or Teraflex) are safe and economical, if installed and maintained correctly. I was hesitant at first to use them, but they worked out great for me.

I had this problem too with a OME HD lift on frt. and rear. I lenghten the rear sway bar links and wat to close to the rim. They touched the wheel weights. So I got the 1.5 spidertrax spaces and problem solved.

You could spend $200 on wheel spacers or spend $300 and get some crager soft 8's with the correct BS. Unless you find some spacers cheap on this forum or Craigs list.
