Default silencing exhaust tip possible?

ok so i just did a streight true magnaflow muffler and i think it sound to loud inside. it sound deep loud and go right inside my ear. i asked my girlfriend to drive the jeep in front of me so i can hear how it sound from the exterior and from some possible police ear... and i was extremely iimpresed how low the sound was from outside !! i was looking at some possibility to lower the sound from inside. was thinking about a exhaust tip made to lower the realy deep shaking sound. i tought about a closed end tip with some ... steel wool at the end to somewhat lower the noise.i found that ( see image ). its on a chopper i know but i saw some exhaust tip like that before for trucks. anyway what do you think i can do to lower the sound. o and one last thing ... the sound is maby 20-30% lower when the motor muffler is hot. that is cool but is it gona keep geting lower with time? i have no carpet and i remeved the insulated material at the back , and have not my drain plug right now. ( planing to do bed liner soon!! )

Can you take a pic of the install? Where did you put the muffler? How far back? Is it a two door or four door? The farther back you put it, the less interior noise you have. We put mine as far back as humanly possible and my interior noise level is very tolerable. There are tips like you spaek of for automotive use, but most of them are huge in diameter and would pose a risk for getting crushed on the trail.

well its a 2 door. i put the muffler right next to where the evap was. so next to the bracket that hold the rear upper control arm. so as far back as possible under the jeep in front of the axle. no pictur but i think you see what i mean. the exhaust finish right where the stock muffler bolt on. so it is not shooting sound outside the under of the jeep... so i think it might be the probleme ? is it ? let me try to find a picture.

The only fix I have ever heard of for interior drone is to weld a 2' piece of tailpipe (plugged on the end) 90* to your existing tailpipe after the muffler. I guess it serves as some kind of expansion chamber. Easier to install a new muffler.

put the carpet back in after you line the tub and that will cut alot of noise out. When you go to wheel just pull the carpet if you are going to play in the mud. if there isn't a heat shield install one. Or go back stock

Just installing the drainplug and bedliner will make a noticeable difference.

Dirt bike exhausts have packing in the silencers for noise purposes. Check out companies like FMF Racing for exhaust packing if you plan on going that route.

You can always use Dynamat. It's a noise insulator I've used on a million different stereo installs and it works like magic to stop vibration and insulates against road noise, etc. It would probably help you not hear the muffler inside the Jeep. You'll have to lay it over the bare floor, but it sticks on, and if you want to later, you can peel it off and use goo gone to get all the residue off. Cover the whole area above wherever the muffler is located, and if you want you can line the whole floor with the stuff. Its a rubber material so it might not look that bad either. Just my 2 cents. In my opinion, it's a better option than messing around with the exhaust...
