Default Do I need to bleed my brakes again?

I installed extended brakelines last week. I wasn't happy with the way the front passenger side was routed. So I cracked the hardline and tried to turn the line to more closely resemble the drivers side, but to no avail....I tried every which way but couldn't get it better than I had it.

So I just retightened and drove and didn't feel any adverse effects.

Do I need to bleed them again?

What is an obvious symptom that I would have a problem?

When the person you just plowed into asks for your drivers license and insurance information.

You should definitely bleed the brake line again.

Sorry, but I think you already knew you need to bleed them and the person that told you that it wasn't necessary doesn't care who you run into.

Don't just "bleed the line". Find the proper procedure. USUALLY it is to bleed the farthest wheel from the master cylinder first and then so on. Sometimes however, especially on vehicles with ABS, the procedure can vary. If you don't bleed correctly, you will never get all of the air out.

Agreed, its time to bleed your brakes again. If you feel softness in the brake pedal you have probably developed some air bubbles in your brake system.

I just went and bled them again to be on the safe side. Laziness almost got the best of me.

Good call. Its a bit of a hassle but when in doubt bleed them again. Failure to stop is not an option.

I would rather be able to stop than go. IHMO brakes are something you should not take shortcuts and cheap way out on. I think you made the right choice bleeding them.
