Default Need some lift feedback

I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a lift package and of course there are some worries because this is my daily driver and I would like to have that “better than stock” ride on the road and retain as gas mileage as possible. I’d like to go with the 37’s but I’m wondering how they handle on the freeway? What kind of gas mileage can I expect? I would also like to go with a 4” SA lift but had heard that it is not as comfortable ride on the road as a 3” or the 4”LA. I would like to do the LA but there is only $7300.00 in the budget including the install fees. A friend of mine got the install fee waived by going to the Off-Road Truck Fest put on by 4wd Parts so I will be traveling to Tacoma on the 4th to see if I can get that same kind of deal.

I have a 09 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4 Door and the package I’ve come up with is listed below, let me know your feedback on it and let me know if there is anything else I might need so I can make changes if need be before the 4th.

Tera Flex 4” Suspension w/Full Flex Arms
$2,000.00

J.E. Reel 1350 Heavy Duty Front Drive Shaft
$650.00

J.E. Reel 1350 Heavy Duty Rear Drive Shaft
$650.00

5.13 Gears
$1,000.00

Toyo Open Country MT 37x13.50Rx17
$386.99 x5 = $2,000.00
Or
BF Goodrich KM2 37x12.50x17

Pro Comp Series 7089 Wheels
$1,000.00

Total = $7300.00

You have some nice stuff picked out there. Speculating gas mileage, guys that have 5.13's with 35" tires get 17-20, so I think you could expect 16-18 MPG.

I've had my Rubicon Express long arms on for almost 2 years now, and they are amazing. When we are out on the trail, my rig is known as the Cadillac in the group. Worth the extra bucks for sure, suspension is the most important thing you can consider when getting ready to modify. Ride quality, dependability, etc.

I think your friend needs his speedometer re-calibrated....

When my 2dr rubi was stock, 14mpg was my average...

I'm getting 15-16 around town right now so I'm thinking the drop would take it to around 10 though I've read above that here. Does that seem reasonable?

It’s a 4-door manual transmission and I don’t wheel that hard. I choose the Toyo’s because I drive a lot in the rain and thought it might be a better tire for that than the KM2’s but am totally open at this point. It’s good to hear I could get away with the 1310’s every bit will help, I do plan on getting the LoD rear bumper just not in this $7300.00 budget.

Has anybody found yourself in my position and gone with the 35’s and regretted it? Are the 37’s too much tire for the 90% daily driver and not cost effective?

I was going to go 37s but I thought I better stay on 35s since I have a D30 front. I also perfer 12.5" width instead of the 13.5" and in the 18" wheel size there are not many options in either 35 or 37 M/T. I am happy with my decision. By the time the 35s wear out I will have a beefy front axle that can handle my larger tires and all I will need to do is trim up my fender flares to be 37" ready. Although I am not sure I want to lose the extra go my 5.13s give me.
