Default 16" vs 17" and 33s for JK 4 door

As the titles states. I imagine there are threads about it, but I was having problems finding it and after half day looking, I gave up.

My wife wants a set of black wheels (we have typically had cragar soft 8s on others) and would like those or something similar now on her Red JK 4 door.

She will likely never go off road so that isn't a factor in the decision. It is her everyday car, but she wants the look of bigger wheel/tire combo.

We had 17" wheels and tires on her 2007 2 door and liked it but wanted to see what was the opinion or comparison going between a 16" and a 17" wheel would be - pros/cons/etc) and going with a 33" tire (or equivalent)

Any information (and/or pictures) are greatly appreciated.

if you're just going to be running 33's, you'll be fine with 16" wheels.

Happy with my setup see Signature for specs. Wife is also very happy with the setup....any higher she would complain getting the kids in and out of the car seats.

I would try for 16's if you find a rim you like as the tires will also be cheaper and more selection of tires.

Do they offer a 33x12.50/16 or do I need to find the equivalent size?

IMHO, 16s would be better off-road, and 17s are better on-road. The sidewall will flex/squish a little less when cornering with the 17s. Personally, I think 16s look better on 33s though. :-)

Wheel choice is more limited in 16's, but I think they look better than 17's on 33's.

Here is mine with some 33x13.50's with 17's. Had an easier time finding tire to fit on 17's than 16's. I also heard rim clearence is more of a concern with 15's or 16's, not sure if there is any truth to that.
