Default Flowmaster vs. Magnaflow (My take on it)

So today I went to the exhaust shop with every intention of getting a super 40 welded up. $120 out the door That was until another fellow JKer was there having his cut out and having a magnaflow installed. He let me listen to the super 40 before it was cut and although it sounded way better than stock it just wasn't "right" it gurgled a lot! So I waited until he got the Magnaflow installed before pulling the trigger..... WOW! waaaaay better! a much deeper/throaty sound with none of the gurgle. The guy doing the install said he wouldn't even recommend FM on anything other than a V8. So obviously the Magnaflow is what I decided to get. Had to get the muffler so I get it on tomorrow. They are going to do a relocate under the driverside w/ driverside tailpipe exit for $150 out the door. Just my take. I know there are MANY exhaust threads but I didn't want to resurect and old one just to hijack it.

Magnaflow 6x16 2.5 i/o 12646 is what I went with

Which Magnaflow did you get? The stainless model? I got their stainless straight through. The stainless Magnaflows are head and shoulders above Flowmaster as far as the build, and here's why. EVERYTHING about the muffler is stainless steel. From the body, to the the pipe ends to the mesh packing material to the welds. Yup, the welds are even done using stainless welding rod. Flowmasters have one serious downfall. NONE of their welds are stainless and that's where you ALWAYS see Flowmasters rusting out is around the welds. You made a good choice.

Here's a link to my video.

Mine is the 4" diameter 18" long body straight through. I'll be curious to see if there's any difference between your 16" X 6" model.

Yeah well......I love rabbits. Always have. I have a real one for a pet. When my wife gets me a stuffed rabbit and says ""put this on your dash", I say "yes ma'am." Now I have two because she got the first one a "mate". What can I say? I love my wife.
