Default Meat Ball on Drain Plug (Differential Cover)

I just changed the diff. fluid in my rear end. I had a little over 600 miles on my new gears. Please, somebody tell me that this is normal?

not really, do you have any whinning on accel or deccelaration coming from gears. You might want to take it back and have them check everything

Wow!

Between changing both my diffs twice, my transmission, and my oil, I doubt I have seen 1/100 of that...

at 500 my oil was shiny with little metal shavings all through it, but there was almost nothing on the magnet. I dont know, but that seems like a lot of shavings. I have superior gears though, is that what you have too?

Yes, it's normal for a magnetic drain plug to catch NORMAL wear particles. However, I think that amount is abnormal. It does seem excessive after only 600 miles.

thats pretty scary looking I never saw anything like that on the two oilc changes I did when I had my gears done, one at 200mi and another at 1000, and my pinion gear chipped away at 1800mi form not being set up properly...was that meatball solid or all small shavings?

this is how they looked at 1800mi
and what was on the magnet, your magnet doesnt look anything like mine
