Default 3" or 4" Lift for 35's

I was all set on a 3" lift for my new 09 Rubicon but started talking to garages today....

I am getting a lot of feedback from the shops that 3" is a mistake with 35's and I should be thinking 4". The Jeep will be 90% daily driver and 10% moderate off-road.

What do you gusy think?

A 3" lift will cover you for 35s with the appropriately backspaced wheels.

most people around here run 37s on a 4"... you can put 35s on as little as 2.5" I think. I think it is perfect under my 3" (which gave me closer to 4" really) I may chop my fenders and run 37s on this lift when the 35s wear out.

You can actually run 35s with a 2.5" lift and some bump stops.

GREAT! Thats exactly what I was hoping for. No way I want to add new drive shafts I would need with a 4". Worst case is I can always add a 1" body lift if I need to right?

Hell just run 6 inches of lift on 35's w/flat fenders, that way when your 35's wear out you can go bigger if ya want. My 35's don't rub at all. LOL

Kinda looks like one of those white roller skates that girls wore in the eighties though, ha ha

Most coil lifts give more height than advertised anyway. I am running 35's on a Rusty's 2" coil lift plus a 3/4" front spacer.
