Default TeraFlex 2.5 coil lift

I need help! I have looked at ever thread that deals with a 2.5" lift kits and I'm still confused.

I'm going to get a TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift with shocks, once it's available again
My local shop said I not only need the kit, but I will also need lower rear flex arms and if don't I will get the death wobble! Everything I've read says to get adjustable rear uppers and adjustable lower fronts! ???????

I am on budget, so purchasing the ultimate lift is not an option. Can someone just list what I need to add, so that I get the best ride quality and safety?

I want the coil lift since I pull an enclosed trailer a couple of times a week and need the extra spring. I have a four door X with auto tranny.

Thanks!

You absolutely do not need the arms. I am running that exact lift with the addition of 1" spacers in front and 1/2" in back and no problems at all. Make sure everything is torqued correctly and you are good to go. I plan to have this lift for years until I finally go 4". The only thing I may do in the future is adding adjustable track bars to make the axles look more centered but they are not needed either since I can let go of the steering wheel on the freeway doing 80 and no wandering at all. This kit is perfect the way it is.

You don't need anything except what comes in the kit...he either wants more money, or doesn't know what he's talking about. I would trust what you find on this forum WAY before i would trust a local shop's advice.

Which TF kit are you getting? They have 4 or 5 2.5 lifts. Anyway, the rear lower control arms won't have anything to do with death wobble. You might consider finding another shop. With a 2.5" lift I'm not sure you will need any rear control arms and you would only need front arms if your caster is way off, but I doubt that will happen with a 2.5 lift.

What do the adjustable front lowers and adjustable rear uppers do for the Jeep? What do the lower flex arms do?

Front lowers will help adjust the position and angle of your front axle and adjust caster. Front uppers are mostly for your caster angle, but with a 2.5" lift most adjustable front uppers won't adjust short enough and that is the reason for using the lowers.
The rear uppers are for adjusting the pinion angle to keep the pinion even with the drive shaft angle. Flex arms are TeraFlex's signature name for the adjustable control arms that they produce.

I'm getting the TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift with shocks not adapters. Is there a particular model number that is more complete?

Flex Arms are just teraflex's name for adjustable arms. They just adjust the caster and help the the driveshafts out by not making them run at a severe angle.

No, that's the one I would get, but I don't see a need for the control arms.

Hey I have one with the shock adapters just sitting at work if ya want it. I'm not ready to install it yet so in the mean time it's sitting. It's a great kit from all the research that I've done and believe me it was a bunch of research.
