Default Anybody have 4.88's with 33's???

I just ordered my 4.88 gears and I was going to go straight to 35's with a larger lift but now I may wait a litter longer just to see how these gears perform with the 33's, is it to steep of a gear for them or will it be fine for highway speeds as well??

It is important to know if you have a 6sp or an Auto. From what I have read, 4.88's might be too small for a 6sp, but okay for an Auto. I am leaning towards 4.56's with my 33's and 6sp, but for now the 3.21's are good enough with my 33's.

It's an auto, some seem to think it maybe a little steep but I have 4.56's in my H3 and it does fine on the highway and does awesome offroad, so Im assuming the JK will be even better offroad with even a lower gear and do fine on the highway as well?
As of right now I can't even use my overdrive its constantly downshifting so hopefully this will definitely correct that issue.

i love 4.88s w/ 33'' rubbers. Ill be stepping up to 35s when my 33's run out but they do fine on/off road you will def notice your rpms are alot higher if your comming from the stock 321s. i havent reset my spedo but at 80mph im at about 4k, driving speed limit(65mph) around 3200, also you will notice you have to shift alot faster. im normally in 3rd gear before im out of the intersection when i the light turns green.

I am currently running 5.13's with the factory Rubi Tires (for the winter time). Believe it or not my mpg is a little better and drives better around town. Yes my computer has been corrected for the 32's and 5.13's. By having my set up this way, I wish 5.38's were available for my set up. Don't fear the gear.

good feedback guys, i will be going from 3.73's to the 4.88's, Like i said eventually i will be going to 35's and I imagine that will even things out a bit more, I was just worried it would be a little to much for the 33's for the time being. I have my hypertech programmer ready so I should be all set.

r6realtor -- is that all you need, the hypertech reprogrammer in order to recalibrate your speedo when upgrading gears?
