superchips programmer...
last week i attended a jeep show down here in orlando.
there was a group from lake mary who made programers called superchips.
they had quite a few people sold on the programmer, claiming that it could do a whole bunch more than the those out there on the market, including hypertec and aev.
has anyone bought from these guys or know much about them?

We're all waiting patiently.....

thanks goes out to the link to the superchips post from a while back. must've missed that one...
one of the superchips reps contacted me last nite.
it doesn't work with macs, and they haven't came up with a way to change shift points. however, they do have quite a few more options than hypertec, and in person, they seem a hell've a lot more friendly and customer service orientated...
i think i may sit this one out a bit more...

As for the shift points, I just cranked them up on my Ram tonight with my Flashpaq getting ready for summer when I might hammer it a little harder. It would seem as if they had it figured out for the Chrysler PCM in one vehicle of the same vintage, they would certainly carry it over to the other. It also states on their press release that shift points are part of their intent and the same team of people who worked on the Ram stuff are the guys doing the Jeep stuff. We'll need to see if it's there in the release, but since I don't have an automatic, I won't be able to provide any feedback.
thanks for the response j-
i'm a little old fashioned..my mac is only 10.4.11. i haven't went up to the intel yet...
if i had the spec sheet downloaded, i would put it up. they claim to be able to play with the transfer case (what exactly i don't know), change idle speeds, lock the axles (?) for short periods and be able to change/add to the towing and winch capabilities. along with doing what the others out there do, you can also play around with the crawl speeds...
to me, this sounds like a really sweet deal.
i think you can go on their website and find this info. i picked up the hardcopy from the show. they had just released the jk version.

The press release is in the other thread,

The transfer case gig is just for if you swap out transfer cases, say an X for a Rubicon or an Atlas.
The idle speed change is pretty big for running a winch and also the Chrysler team at Superchips that is doing this will be adding it to the feature set of the Dodge Ram which I desperately need before air conditioner season having installed a 20% under-drive damper.
As for it actually shipping, I haven't seen it yet and I haven't seen any reports of someone who has one. I hope it arrives soon as it looks like I have a good weekend to mess around with it.
