Default Need Adj Rear Trackbar for Skyjacker Lift

I have a Skyjacker lift (before they had the big bracket for the rear trackbar) and am wanting to install an adjustable trackbar in place of the stock trackbar and Skyjacker relocation bracket. My question is, since Skyjacker claims that the lift is 5" for the 2-dr model (4" for the 4-dr) and I have no reason to necessarily doubt this, if I get an adjustable trackbar from FT, TF, JKS, etc., do I still need a bracket? Most of the adjustable trackbars state they are good for 2"-4" lifts is why I ask...am I going to be okay with just the trackbar or do I need to invest in a better relocation bracket from someone like TeraFlex? I don't mind spending the money if I need to, but don't care to if not.

for the rear, you should be okay with just an adjustable track bar alone but installing a relocation bracket will help restore your suspension geometry to where it really should be at that height. however, i would NOT recommend using the SJ bracket even with the brace they have as it has been proven time and time again to break factory mounts. i would recommend that you use something like the drop bracket that FT makes, relocation bracket that TF makes that has additional supports or something like the currie bracket that gets welded on.

Thanks for the quick responses - and WoL, I was certainly NOT going to use the SJ relocation bracket(s) As a matter of fact, I'm probably slowly but surely [more slowly than surely ] going to move away from this SJ setup altogether. This is my first Jeep and looking back, I'd have gone a little lower on the lift and larger on the tires (live and learn huh?). I'd still like to be able to garage fit it when I get larger tires (35s or maybe 37s w/ more mods). I know it's a Jeep, but the baseball sized hail that came down last night reaffirms my decision to keep it safe and sound at night.

And no worries RuBob, I was also interested in how a frame-mounted vs. an axle-mounted bracket affects performance once it was brought up - thx Spillidge for the insight.

If you are looking for an indestructable axle mount bracket and adjustable trackbar look no further than CLAYTON! I have a Clayton lift and added the rear bracket and trackbar, the bracket mounts to the existing bolt and clamps completely around the axle tube. I can't see this heavy bracket ever breaking. Go to the Clayton website for pics.
