IMHO it looks like it sticks out waaay to far and it looks more like a tire carrier than a rear bumper. I thought it was supposed to be both?

I have one on my JK, It's been on for 10,000+ miles with zero problems, slight rattle on washboard roads, looks good and simple, matches the simple look of my Expedition One stubby on the front,I don't really care about it being a "bumper" because if someone hits me from behind (again)the 37" spare tire takes care of business quite well!It destroyed the Jeep Grand Wagoneer's hood and grill that hit me,without showing any damage at all to the Rancho tire carrier/bumper.It does not stick out at all,it fits tightly over the rear frame horns and installed very easily in an hour or so,I work out of the back of my JK so the tire carrier gets opened/closed appx 5-6 times a day.I was hesitant to buy this but neede somes that was affordable and would carry a 37,I am pleased with it especially for the price.

x2. I dig mine as well except for the rattle on the bumps. I fixed that with a piece of 3/4 sprinkler pipe about 6" long stuck in between the bumper and the carrier at the pin point. Works flawlessly and is holding up rather well. I open mine regularly as well without any issues..

I like mine too.
For the price you really can't beat it.....holds my 35" spare, and my hi-lift perfectly. A little bit of a pain to open the tailgate with the hi-lift on it as it can't swing open all the way.
No other issues though.
