Default rugged ridge front bumper hoop

ok..i have been driving around with my rugged ridge bumper and center hoop for about a year..i mounted it so it tilts back towards the body of the jeep



do i have it backwards? i saw a post or 2 that had the hoop going forward..

am i a dumbass?

LOL, dumb ass might be a little harsh steve but yes, you may have mounted yer hoop backwards.....

Im pretty sure RR has it as one of the many options of mounting that way....so it's up to you!

Actually, it's mountable either way, it's just preference.

Yes, either way is okay. Even the instructions say it's up to you how you want it.

I have mine mounted forward with the thought that it protects the lights on the bumper a little more. Unbolt and rebolt - 10 min. If only it weren't for the crappy positioning of the bolt holes in relation to the weld. I had to grind down one side of all the washers so they would lay flat on the mounting plate versus riding at an angle on the weld! I also bought new grade 8 washers of the same size. These won't bend when the bolt heads are tightened down.

I've been debating the same move, I've only had min on for a few months.

What are the advantages of turning it around? It is no where near a stinger, so I'm guessing just to come into contact with brush or whatever earlier and keep it off your grill.

The hoop is actually mountable both ways.
