Default Bestop Header Safari Bikini Tops

I recently purchased the Bestop Safari Top for my 2008 2 Dr. Intent was to give me that open air feeling but some protection from the rain. Well Ive had it for about a month now and hate it.

The back of it that covers the rear of the Jeep flaps terribly on the highway. Regardless how tight I sinch it down. At times it sounds like a huey is flying behind me. It needs to be upgraded with a bar that goes across the back to add some rigidity and reduce the flapping.

Just my experience for what it's worth.

I have the one for my 4 dr and it flaps pretty bad. Does yours use the soft top surrounds?

I bought a couple of bows that I need to trim and I'm hoping that helps.

In the mean time, I bought some dark grey pipe insulation (six foot foam tubes) from Lowes and shoved them over the sound bar, along the sides and across the header and it eliminated about 90% of the flap.

Your definitely not alone. I was considering Bestop's Safari Top a few months ago, but came across numerous forum posts with feedback citing the same flapping phenomenon you mention.

Thanks for the heads up on those!
Has anybody seen mods (like for a TJ) that cinch up the sail panels, and have a tension strap to keep the aftermost bow tight to the deck? i.e. make a bikini out of your factory top???
