Superchips flashpaq.....whats the deal
I just say this product is availble for the JK's now and i already see a thread talking about problems with this product. Whats the deal, should i hold off on buying this one? anyone else have any issues or praises for this thing?
My $0.02. I would wait and confirm that people can get updates still from the web. As long as that is working - they should be able to fix anything else over time and I would assume that the hardware is not going to change. That is all it took for me to pull the trigger. The only thing that makes me nervous is the inability to run the update.
If you have reservations, by all means hold off.
Currently the product is a week old. If you didn't think there was going to be some hurdles to a new programmer that covers more than 10 years of Jeeps, a half dozen or so different engines and transmissions along with a half dozen Jeep models you are probably new to this game. To my knowledge, no one has bricked their jeep they have simply been unable to update their programmer or have an unrecognized vehicle configuration while trying to do an install over a holiday weekend.
If Superchips found something wrong with a mismatched stock config similar to the issue I had with my speedo out of the gate (fixed inside of 24 hours) then they did the right thing to pull the update for the long weekend when their tech support isn't active. The few left in the lurch are those who received their product late
Thursday or Friday.
Bright and early Monday morning the couple of people having issues can contact Superchips and start the process of having their issues resolved. We'll also get an opportunity to find out why the updates are seemingly offline. Then wait a day or perhaps two and see if peoples issues are resolved. My guess is they will be and my past experience of how they shy away from just prior to weekend updates and problem resolution suggests by Wednesday all should be good.

Never update a critical system on a Friday. Not in the computer world if you might need technical support. It's basically a rule. At least they didn't break anything, just no satisfaction.
