Picking a rear bumper to go with aev front
time to add a rear bumper to go with the aevs front. trying to decide between 1. lod (slight favorite has the most toys to attach) 2. pure jeep (i like the way it fits the fenders and have there sliders but they have no accessories to attach to the bumper) 3. expedition one ( tire carrier system
) 4. aevs new rear ( long wait probably to get and those tubes/plastic corners
other wise probably technically great. like to see it with all its accessories attached.

Haven't purchased a rear bumper yet but have determined that on my 2 door as much as I use the tail gate a tire carrier that doesn't swing with the gate is a non-mover for me. That pretty much leaves me with the expedition one, but I have a bit of time before I abuse the stock carrier enough to become an issue.
Believe it or not, but you should seriously consider the AEV rear bumper. Forget about the funny looking tube it has rapped around it and look at it functionally. This thing weighs alot less than its competitors at around 55lbs. It also has a design in the tire swing which allows it to flex as you tackle obsticles which in turn relieves stress at the swing arm which minimizes the probability of rattle can effect.
Now, if you can't get over the cosmetics then take a look at the Teraflex tire carrier which also has it own creative way to deal with rattle can or you can do a ARB/OrFab combo like I have. No rattle can ever and its a much lighter set up. The ARB weight 45lbs and the ORFAB about 35-40lbs.
I'll be posting some pics of my tire carrier set up very soon in Show and Tell area in this forum if you want to see what I'm talking about.
Good luck!
