Default Anti-Theft Door Devices?

I'm seeing a couple of different companies offer lockable anti-theft devices that go on the bottom of the door hinges. Are these really neccessary, and if so, what do you all suggest?

I agree. A gun should be your first and last line of defense.

I bought the Tuffy's. It's a keyed cover that goes over a 3/4" "bolt". You'll still need a 3/4" open end to get them loose once you unlock them. They have a serious weakness, but I won't publicize it. You may want to look at another brand.

Have you talked with Jeff at Tuffy about this?
