Unhappy which 2.5" lift to go with..?

im in the process of lift shopping.. the jk is my second truck and first to ever consider lifting. i hear pros and cons with many lifts and it all has put me into confussion. i really have no clue where to start. i have a wrangler jk unlimited X 4dr with a 6spd. im want the 2.5" lift so i can run 33's so i dont kill my mileage nor ride since its my DD. i do know if going with a BB is better than a lift with new coils and shocks. is there anything else i should have with the lift to over come future mechanical problems like trac bar, etc.. i also here that u should buy additional front spacers to level out the jeep especially that i have a heavy push bar on my front bumper.. any help out there, id be more than happy to listen in. thanks

I have never had any other lift, but I have the 2.5 Teraflex Coil w/ the shocks and I couldn't be happier with it Highly recommend it!

I have a 2008 2-door and bought the 2.5 coils and shocks from Rough Country and it is a good fit... I think there are several of them that would work well for you.

I have the Rough Country 2.5" spacer lift with shock extensions(Click Here). At $139.95 it gives you the most bang for your buck. Good luck with your search.

everyone will just recommend what lift they have. teraflex should be your first choice. best customer service ive ever seen and quality products. also i know people dont like rubicon express lifts but i've never heard of anyone having death wobble issues with theirs lift and they are also the same as mopar lifts. their 2" lift would be plenty to run 33" tires. thats how i started out and no rubbing. whatever way you choose good luck with it and enjoy the jeep.

This is always a good place to start:

i do know if going with a BB is better than a lift with new coils and shocks.
A BB with an extra spacer up front will give height and level the factory rake. Or, get one of the 'Leveling Kits' to take care of lift & rake.

But... How much weight did you put up front? If it's enough to sag the springs, you'll be much happier with new springs up there.

is there anything else i should have with the lift to over come future mechanical problems like trac bar, etc..
Depending on the kit you choose, probably. It all depends on what came with the kit, how much lift, and what performance you're willing to live with. Track bars/relo's to recenter the axles are good, but with a 2" lift, you can easily live without it. Some adjustability up front for Caster is good, but again, lots of folks wait to address it. All depends on you...
