Default Can I run these shocks on a non lifted Jeep?

Everywhere I read said these are for lifted Jeeps (I don't have a lift) but Quadratec does not say that. Can I run them?

What would happen if I ran the 5100s? They wouldn't fit? I have the Bilstein HDs on now (the yellow and blue ones) and they suck.

Would these be any better?

I imagine that if you were running longer shocks on a non lifted Jeep then you would run into the issue of your shocks collapsing all the way before you hit your bumpstop which would put a lot of pressure on your shock if you were to come down hard. Inversely, when you flex, you may run into the problem where you completely unseat your spring and possibly allow it to fall out when articulating due to the shock allowing more travel. I have not seen this setup run but these are just a couple of problems that I could see happening...

Maybe not though...

If you're just looking for a better shock on your stock setup why don't you look for some Rubi monotubes? I imagine that you could find some of those for very cheap or even free.

not on the edlebrocks no...your gonna lose about 4" of compression with the taller shocks unfortunately....I just had a look at my old stock ones and a couple spare MX6's I have...compressed them both down and yeah it's about 4" lost in compression...your gaining in extension obviously...but the shocks also play a role in limiting your extended flex a bit so you don't start losing springs...which you would most likely do with the extended ones...sorry

I don't think Rubi shocks would help as I am running the Bilstein HDs and they are no help. The reason I am asking about the Edelbrocks is because they are recommended for roads with potholes. See here..

Manufactured by Edelbrock in the USA, these are the only automotive shocks that incorporate the patented Ricor Inertia Active System. This unique valve design senses changes in terrain and adjusts instantly for a better ride than you ever thought possible.

You think I could just buy a front set to try them out and go from there?

Your rear springs will fall out with the 5100's with no lift. If you had a 2.5 in BB w/longer bumpstops, they would work . Did you adjust your toe yet Hellbound, I mean did you get where you could rotate the adj. ring?
