Default So confused about tires

So after hours of looking at pictures (show your 33's thread), reading reviews and digging through hundreds of posts I am at a loss of what tires are right for me.

The models I have looked at seriously
BF Goodrich MT KM2
BF Goodrich TA KO all-terrain (looking like a winner for now)
Nitto Terra Grappler (I really like that they are offered in 295/75 R17)

How many miles can I expect out of the KM2 from BF Goodrich if most of my driving is on-road, with maybe 20% being off road?

If I got the BF Goodrich All terrains it looks like I could expect about 50k miles which is awesome, I would really like the more agressive M/T though if tread life is decent.

The nitto grapplers have great reviews, are cheap and slightly larger (295/75 R17 VS 285/70 R17 || or 33.25 vs 32.7"). I just wish the tread was more aggressive looking.

Recap & Want list
-Stock 17" rims with spidertrax 1.5" spacers
-2.5" teraflex BB
-want 33", considered 35", but decided not to since this is my DD, and I don't want to do any more upgrades for now
-Want agressive tread (for looks and functionality)
-about 80% on-road use

Any suggestions, I am open to other tires as well, such as pro-comp or mickey thompson.

disscounttire.com has the $70 mail in rebate on bf-goodrich tires, so that could help persuade me towards one of their offerings.

Thanks guys (and gals)
-Zac

That is really a bright page, I have 35s on a dd with no problems (3.5 inch lift) I would suggest the km2s, they are light and wear great IMHO!

For DD sake, you may want to consider a "thinner" tire, such as a 285/75R17
Helps in wet / snowy conditions, but still provides lots of traction for off-road.

Of all the trucks I've had and used primarily as an on-road DD, the biggest complaint would be too wide of a tire.

You 'really' want a MT. You'll kick yourself on a regular basis if you go with an All Terrain. SO, ask which MT's have the longest treadlife expectancy and go from there

The Cooper STT (M/T) and the Toyo Open Country M/T are available in a 295/70.
The Toyo also has a 285/75 = 34x11.50

I'm running 35" KM2's on my DD as well, wearing great so far, and not too loud. Aggressive look and great performance off-road when you need it.

On the other hand, I was wheeling with one of the sponsors on this forum a couple of weeks ago who was running BFG All Terrains successfully on lines that I bypassed. They're both capable tires, but I picked the KM2's for the above reasons.

P.S. I'm running the Teraflex budget boost that you're considering, it's great with 35's, and with the spacers you should be fine.

I went for the Mud Terrain

5x BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 285/70 R17
$1384 shipped, mounted, balanced and including tax + a $70 mail in rebate

So $1314 all set-and-done.
