Body Armor Sliders
I searched for related post, but only found one member who has had experiance with these(body mounted) not the old frame mounted. I just installed a set today(couldnt wait for shrockworks and longer) and am about to go wheel at the hammers this weekend, im looking for information about these things actually being used, can they be trusted to take a beating. Thanks for any info!

Almost everyone that has TJs and YJs use the body mounted rock rails without any problems. It is said that the body mounted rails are actually stronger than frame mounted and also provide a little better ground clearance for your underbelly. The frame mounted rails can act like a lever and bend up into your body, scratching or denting your rocker panels. The body mounted ones just add a thick piece of metal directly to the rocker panel itself, making it more ridged and able to take direct beatings. The reason there aren't many body mounted rock rails available on the JK is because of the curved body lines. The TJs and YJs had more squared of lines and made it easier for the aftermarket companies to fab up the armor.
This is what most jeeps used in the past so I don't see why the integrity of the design would change. You should be just fine, have fun at the Hammers! lets see some pics of them installed, and some wheeling pics afterwords too.
A lot of people bash the idea of them on JK's due to the thin sheet metal used for the body panels. Notably thinner than previous models. I honestly think that they should be fine tho. Like stormrider said, it's reinforcing the panel. I think a lot of people also have problems drilling into the body of their new Jeep. I'll be going with ORE's fenders/armor so i'll be putting quite a few holes in mine. It's all part of the fun. Let us know how they work for u. Maybe even get some pics of em getting used 2 disprove the nay-sayers
