Default Gears 4.10 or 4.88?

I recently put on some 33"s on my jk.. mine has the 3.21s in it from the factory which is crap.. i was wondering if i should go for the 4.10's or 4.88;s . i dont do a whole lot of offroading but i pulled a trailer to mud nationals a couple weeks back and i could barely get 65 mph out of her. I'm on the highway quite a bit so i dont wanna be turning 3500 rpm doing 70mph. I know how much the gears cost but what is the going cost to have them installed? also will adding gears void the warranty? Oh yeah and its a manual tranny

auto or stick? I am gonna jump the gun and say

stick 4.56 if you are gonna stay with 33s if you are even thinking 35s go 4.88...

auto 4.88, 5.13 for 35s but I wouldn't gear 33s with 5.13

I have 33's with 4.10 gears and don't have a problem at all.

Set up as you described above:
70 mph in 6th w/33's
4.10=2455
4.56=2730
4.88=2922
5.13=3071

ya but if you are gonna spend money to regear just going to 4.10 is a waste... if it came in your jeep then fine... I mean I am gonna run 4.10s with 35s for a bit until I go 5.13

X2

There is a lot of personal opinion on which ratio is best for any given tire size, but you have to figure that for the cost, regearing to a 'stock' (underpowered) ratio may not be the best use of your money.

Figure somewhere in the $1200 to $1800 range for parts and labor for both axles, out the door. You could get lucky and find a lower rate at a decent shop, but don't count on it.

X3, my 4.10s are not to bad withthe 35s, even more livable after using the AEV pro-cal, shift points are better

I just went from 3.21's to 4.10's with my Firestone 33" tires...I personally find these to be the absolute best match...I believe with the standard you'll find 4.88's to be a little too much with 33's....if you were an auto I'd say 4.56...but great point already made, if you believe you may get bigger tires in the future, and your going to regear now...get yourself the 4.88's...with a standard and 4.88's with 35" tires you'll find it most acceptable I'm betting, based on your useage desciption.
If your staying with 33" rubber, than 4.10's on the highway is your best bet. I have adjusted nothing in my powerplant, bone stock there, yet with 33", 4.10's and my standard transmission I find I have ample power, and my mileage isn't grotesque. Plenty of power to haul around a small trailer.

Have a look at this chart if you've never seen one before...it can help give you an idea of what you can expect. These numbers are based on a 1:1 final drive ratio (ie. you doing 65mph in 5th gear)

Anyways...some stuff to consider there for you
