Default bestop oversized carrier failure

OK Ive had the bestop oversized carrier maybe a year carying a 33 on a stock rim. I finally got around to mounting my new rim to the spare. I am so lucky that my tire did not go bouncing down the road. I hated this carrier started rusting maybe a week ok maybe two weeks after I installed it. I have even painted it so who knows what it would have looked like by now. Anyway here are the pics please dont but this POS!

Your pictures aren't that clear. Is the carrier rusted, cracked, or what?

I looked at the installation instructions and it appears that the tire carrier was installed incorrectly. The carrier should be mounted flush with the tailgate and the square tire stops should be mounted on top of the carrier.
It looks as though your carrier is only fastened with 4 bolts instead of 8 and that may be the cause of the premature stress and cracks.
Here is a link to the install instructions. Compare your pics with steps # 3 & 4 of the instructions.

I want to say I apologize It was installed wrong and I should have looked into my problems a bit further. I just got it as a present and was happy to have my spare on there for free lol.
