Default Minimum Lift Needed to Clear 35" Tires?

As people who've seen my other posts know my garage is pretty low. I'm trying to make arrangements with a local Jeeper to see if we can fit a 2.5" Teraflex lift w/ some 35" tires in there but I have a feeling it's gonna be to close. If I can make the Teraflex fit I'm gonna just get that. But I need to consider other options.

What is the minimum lift needed to clear 35" tires without rubbing. I know 2.5" will do it, but will a 2" lift clear? Any brand recommendations?

Daystar has packaged thier 1.75" budget boost with thier 1" body lift and is marketing it with the "clear those 35's" catch phrase. I had 315/70/17's on a 2.5" rough country along with a 3/4" spacer added to the front, but I also ran a 1" body lift as well.

Just remember the backspacing on your wheels. If you are planning on using the stock wheels, your gonna have to add some spacers either the Teraflex, Spidertrax or the new Rough Country ones. Stay with those as apposed to the sandwich style and you'll be fine.

tf 2.5 is more than enough to clear 35s.

There could still be rubbing with a 2.5" lift. Just so you have a heads up. When I first installed a 2.5" BB on my '07 unlimited, I ran 295/75R16's on the stock 16's with the Spidertrax spacers and still had a little rubbing.

But nothing that would cause me to NOT run it. I replaced my stock wheels with a steel wheel that ran 4" backspacing, added a 1" bodylift and upgraded tires to 35's. Life was good.

as long as you run longer bump stops you could put them on stock.

Are you against trimming the plastic fender flares? Pics in the write-up section show that you can darn near run 35's on the stock suspension once this is done. Doesn't look bad either.

I have the OME Long Travel lift from Northridge wich gave me just over 3" of lift and although it does not rub in the wheel well I rub when cranked over and reversing on my front bumper. A saw fixed that though

Yeah, I realize the RC lift needs new swaybar mounts & bump stops. Kit prices for RC and TF are about the same after all the extra parts so price really isn't a concern. I just wanna clear the 35" tires and the skid plates.

Cool. Do you have any rubbing at all?
