Default Paint over powder coat?

Can you paint over powder coat with any success? Which paint should I use or process?

I dont have any professional info but I know a lot of people touch up chips in powder coat with spray on rattle can truck bedliner such as duplicolor. I have done this and it matches the color and texture pretty well if you use light even coats.

Bumper came damaged so I have decided to paint over powder coat to make further damage easy to touch up. Do I need any prep work to make it adhere to the powder coat?

Just give it a scuffing some course scotch brite will work the best but you can use sand paper like 120 grit. The sand paper will plug up but if you have some wet and dry it will last much longer. Then I clean it with a wax remover or Lacquer thinner prime and paint. This has worked for me.

I would just make sure it is nice and clean, you can rub it down with some rubbing alcohol to get it really clean but this stuff dosent seem to be too picky. If you go this route just make sure you really shake the hell out of the can and turn the can upside down and clear out the nozzle by spraying it a couple times after each use. If you dont clear it the stuff clogs the nozzle and you wont get an even spray pattern next time you use it.
