Default Cragar Soft 8 wheel caps

I just put new black Cragar Soft 8's on my JK and want to put on a caps. I looked all over and it doesn't look like Cragar makes a black cap. I am assuming that caps from other manufacturers wont fit Cragar wheels but wanted to see if anyone else found a black wheel cap that would fit.

I considered spraypainting but I know that wont last long so its a last resort.

another option is going with the stock x 16" steel wheel caps. just scuff them up, hit them with some primer and then rattle can them whatever color you want. thats the route a lot have gone including myself.

Yeah they do. I'm having 17x9 Soft 8's with 4.5 backspacing being custom made for me right now (the 4.5 bs on 9 inch rim is not a standard size). I ordered them through Discount Tire. I asked for black caps instead of chrome and they said no problem. I've got the caps and lugs sitting in a box next to me, when the wheels come in next week I'll put up a pic. Just call up Discount tire and they should be able to hook you up too. Goodluck

if you don't want to paint them, or if cragar doesn't make them in black, blackrock comes with black center caps. if you prep the chrome ones right, they will look just like they came from the factory.

Funny you should bring that up. I got the 17x9 with the standard 5" backspacing not realizing that I would rub on my sway bars....

How much did it cost to have them custom made?

I have these as well, and the rears only rub a little at full flex

Discount didn't charge me anything extra, I believe they were $87 a piece...I can check if you want, but I remember they said it was no extra cost, just takes more time to get them. I ordered them last week and they told me it takes about 2 weeks for them to be made and shipped. I guess the sizes they list online/in store are common sizes. I asked cause I wanted the 17x9 for extra width for the 35's but had to have 4.5. I actually almost went with 4.00 inches but didn't want to have any issues with fender laws. They agreed and gladly called Cragar to order the exact size I wanted. I was really impressed with their service. Thats when I asked for black caps. They said chrome was standard so they had to order the black caps too.. but those came in like 2 days. If there's a Discount tire by you guys I would go check them out cause their customer service was great. If not it seems like any tire/wheel shop that deals Cragar should be able to get the caps for you no problem, just gotta ask/make em call. Goodluck

do they rattle at all? Did you have to clip the pegs off the back end for them to sit right?
I'm thinking of using the caps from my stock rims after painting them Rescue Green, but don't want to mod them unless I know they'll be ok.

You can modify some sterno cans:

Looks like it turned out pretty well.

Has anyone put those blackrock rims on their rig yet? I'm thinking about these and want to know what the quality is like. Made in USA, and I think they have a "flat black" rather than the gloss black. Anyone know what the quality is like?
