Default Differential with LSD oil change

I am changing the differential oil in my rear D44. I bought Quaker state 75-140 full synthetic and picked up the LSD additive from the jeep dealer. How much additive do i add,... the whole thing? Also can i put the same 75-140 in my front D30. I can't find full synthetic in the 80-90

Full synthetic gear oils usually don't need the friction modifier additive. If the stuff you bought is GL-5, save some money and return the LSD additive to the dealer. At least that what it says on the Quaker State web site.

That's right. I have used Mobil 1 and Valvoline synthetic lube on my rear LSD without any additive. It works fine.

Don't use the additive if the gear oil you have has it in it. To much is not a good thing.

The guy at Partsource (store in ontario wich i bought the oil), said you still need to add the dealer additive. There may not be enough additive in the synthetic oil, the manufacturer only put an average of what some vehicles require.

I'm thinking of adding only half of the 4 ounce additive bottle and see what happen's.
